In my chess piece
I have made it realistic by adding a lot of details/value to my chess piece and adding lots of shading to the background as well as detail. I have also
added the value to the background, like how I have added a dark and light
to my chevron print to not make it look like it is no supposed to be there and not make it look like its just one flat print.
I have put pattern in my background by making the chevron print go in two directions with the shading, with my pencil. For rhythm I have put my dark lines going the opposite way from each other because I think it adds more than just seeing the same pattern going the same way over and over.
Movement I have made my lines go different direction from each other than them going the same way to not look like its is a flat image. In my art piece I have used the gradient scale to add to my chevron print that I have done to not make it look like it is just going to be flat because that would just make it look very plain with only value to the chess piece.
I chose to place my chess piece not in the middle because mostly when you are working on art we mostly place it in the middle and that can just be a little boring. So I have placed my chess piece off to the left side because it makes you look from one side of the page to another (left to right).
I made my chess piece the focal point by adding a little bit of an outline to the chess piece drawing and making the shading a little more harsh than the background.
